The #BalticWayMission, though it took place more than two weeks ago, left our volunteers not only with powerful impressions but also with a significant debt for our foundation.

On August 23rd, we decided to partially recreate the historic event that our friends, parents, and grandparents created 36 years ago: standing together with our Latvian and Estonian brothers on the road to freedom. This time, our road leads to Ukraine.
In the early hours of that Saturday, Lithuanian foundations VšĮ Tarptautinis Ukrainos draugų fondas, labdaros ir paramos fondas VISI IŠVIEN, and LPF Laisvė arba mirtis joined forces with the Estonian fund SAB UA and the Latvian fund Biedriba Tev. In Lviv, we also met with our partners from the fund Mušk maskvėną sotus. Each foundation contributed as much as it could, with the combined Lithuanian forces sending 36 vehicles deep into Ukraine, to the places where they are needed most by soldiers on the front lines. ![]()
However, with a large number of vehicles came even more challenges—a record six cars broke down before reaching their destination. The good news is that almost all of these vehicles have since been repaired and successfully delivered to the soldiers in Ukraine!![]()

Even before this mission, we had delivered 19 cars, making this entire operation a record-breaking one, with a total of 55 vehicles delivered! Some of these were even delivered by our volunteers to hot spots on the front, where they are critically needed. ![]()
Together with the volunteers, we also commemorated Ukrainian Flag Day on August 23rd and Ukrainian Independence Day on August 24th. A concert was held in Lviv for this occasion, with volunteers being greeted by the Chairman of the Lviv Oblast Council, Yurii Xolod, and the Head of the Lviv Oblast Administration, Maksim Kozitskyi. The artists SHUMEI and Okean Elzy also performed. The event was attended by the Secretary of the Embassy of Lithuania in Ukraine, Beatričė Beliavciv.
The Ukrainian people thanked Lithuanians, Latvians, and Estonians for their unwavering support and expressed gratitude to every driver for their time and courage. They stressed that what we do—and what you do, by contributing to our car purchases—is truly saving lives. So we must pass on this thank you to you. Thank you for not giving up and for your commitment to our shared fight for freedom in Ukraine. ![]()

Sadly, this brings us to the unseen and painful side of our convoys: the outstanding financial obligations for vehicles that have already been acquired and delivered to the front lines. Requests from Ukrainian soldiers are constant, and each request is a matter of life and death—without exaggeration. That’s why we go above and beyond to try and deliver every vehicle requested.
Mažasis Konvojus and Ukraine need the support of every person who cares. We know that person is you.
Contribute to our mission.
